How the Calculator Works

Our calculator uses industry-standard ASHRAE cooling load factors adapted for Dubai's climate.

1. Room Volume

We start with the room's floor area multiplied by ceiling height, then apply a base cooling load per square metre based on room type (bedroom, living room, kitchen).

2. Load Adjustments

We adjust for sun exposure (low, medium, high), additional occupants (600 BTU per person over the first), and ceiling height above the standard 2.7 metres.

3. AC Recommendation

We match the total cooling load to the closest standard AC size (12,000 BTU = 1 ton), recommending the next size up to ensure adequate cooling capacity.

Important: This calculator provides an estimate based on typical Dubai residential conditions. For commercial properties, rooms with extensive glazing, or unusual layouts, a site visit from our HVAC technician is recommended. We offer free site surveys for AC replacement and new installation projects.
